Department awarded project to visualise software metrics

The Innovate UK-funded TestMiner project will devise novel ways by which to analyse software systems, and to visualise their metrics. The project is a collaboration between Neil Walkinshaw and Nir Piterman in the department and DRTS. The project was a submission to the recent Innovate UK / DSTL competition on "Software verification and validation for complex systems".

Leandro Minku joins the department

Leandro Minku has joined the department as a Lecturer. Minku's expertise lies in the application of algorithms from the domains of Machine Learning and Data Mining to Software Engineering. His specific areas of interest include:

  • Computational Intelligence for Software Engineering
  • Mining Data Streams, Online Learning and Concept Drift
  • Ensembles of Learning Machines
  • Evolutionary Algorithms (co-evolution, multi-objective techniques, hybridization with neural networks)

Before joining Leicester, he spent five years as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Birmingham.
