Department to Coordinate EU-wide Reversible Computing Project

We are delighted to announce that Irek Ulidowski has been awarded an EU ICT COST Action grant: the first such grant at the University of Leicester. The Action IC1405 on Reversible Computation will run over four years, with participation from over 20 EU countries, with a budget of 512,000 Euros.

Reversible Computing is a novel computing paradigm that, in addition to the conventional model of computation, also enables programs to execute in the reverse. This has been shown to have significant implications for energy efficiency, as well as for reliable and recovery oriented distributed software and systems. This COST action is chaired by Ulidowski, and it brings together expertise from industrial and academic partners across Europe to explore solutions to some of the fundamental research challenges that have arisen in this area.
