EU-funded GO-LAB Project commences

The department (through Dr. Effie Law) is a partner the EU FP7 funded Go-Lab project, which has recently started. The project (Global Online Science Labs for Inquiry Learning at School) is a European collaborative project co-funded by the European Commission (Seventh Framework Programme) and uniting 19 organisations from twelve countries.

The project aims to enable school pupils (from the age of 10-18) to engage with science by giving them access to on-line facilities that enable them to learn and even to carry out their own scientific experiments.

The project is being run in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), CERN, along with a host of other universities, companies, and research institutions.
