Dr Ruth Saunders

Having gained her PhD in Cell Physiology and Pharmacology at the University of Leicester in 2000, Ruth had a brief interlude working as an Editorial Assistant (which provided her with many useful transferable skills for paper and grant writing) prior to undertaking her first post-doctoral position in Biochemistry. She joined the Department of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in 2005.             

Ruth is currently a Research Fellow, working with Professor Chris Brightling, with her research interests focussing on airway remodelling, in particular airway smooth muscle dysfunction, in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Ruth sits on the 3I Working Lives Committee and the Researcher Forum Committee.
