New paper looking at how specialist paediatric intensive care retrieval teams operate

Dr Sarah Seaton from the TIMMS research group is a co-author on a new paper that aimed to determine what proportion of demand for PICRT services in England and Wales can be reached within 3 hours and to explore the potential coverage impact of more stringent "time to bedside" standards using mathematical location-allocation methods. The authors concluded that any reduction in the time to bedside standard will result in many more hospitals will not be adequately covered. In addition, they showed that location-allocation optimisation is a powerful technique for supporting evidence-based service configuration.
