Biography

Farhad is a clinical research fellow in the Social Science Applied to Healthcare Research Group (SAPPHIRE) at the University of Leicester and a Specialty Registrar in Gastroenterology & General Medicine at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS trust.

After completing medical school at the University of Sheffield, Farhad joined the Academic Foundation Programme in the South Yorkshire deanery. He subsequently joined Health Education East Midlands as an Academic Clinical Fellow in Medical Education and a core medical trainee. During this time, he also completed a Masters in Medical Education at the University of Nottingham. He then returned to full time clinical training as a Specialty Registrar in Gastroenterology & General Internal Medicine.

He is currently undertaking a PhD in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Leicester investigating how action plans following root cause analysis of serious incidents in healthcare can be made more robust. This project is funded by the Health Foundation and is supervised by Professor Mary Dixon Woods, Professor Justin Waring, Professor Graham Martin and Professor Sue Carr.
