MAPP

Mental Health, Ageing, Public Health and Primary Care (MAPP) Research Group

The newly configured Mental Health, Ageing, Public Health and Primary Care (MAPP) group is located within the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Leicester. The mission of this group is to undertake clinically focused translational research to improve outcomes for those with complex health needs. The group comprises 12 academic and research staff, with a further 17 staff in mainly educational roles and a much broader number of PhD students, Academic Clinical Fellows, undergraduates (undertaking sabbaticals/research projects) and NHS staff with honorary roles.

Our aim is to foster a cohesive working environment through supportive supervision, mentorship and regular informal group meetings as a means of sharing ideas, presenting research and receiving multi-disciplinary feedback.

We have strong links with the NHS and NIHR, locally and nationally. Departmental staff include the clinical lead of the NIHR Primary Care Research Network East Midlands and South Yorkshire and the co-director of the NIHR Diabetes Research Network, South East Midlands.
