Final Submission of Thesis

You will need to submit your final hard-bound thesis and eThesis to the Library before your degree can be awarded. You should submit your final hard-bound thesis to the David Wilson Library following confirmation from your examiners that any amendments have been satisfactorily completed.

Bind and Submit Your Thesis

Step 1 Bind the Final Hard-Bound Thesis

The final submitted copy of your thesis must be bound as follows:

Binding Colour - Standard Green (Arbelave Library Buckram No. 563)

Front Cover - leave blank

Back Cover - leave blank

Spine - name, thesis title (abbreviated to fit if necessary), degree, and year of final submission; you can download an illustration of what your thesis spine should look like:

Theses which are not bound correctly will be delayed while arrangements are made for them to be re-bound at your expense.

The University's Print Services office can arrange for printing and binding in accordance with University regulations and can deliver the thesis directly to the University Library.

Step 2 Complete a Final Submission Form

This should be signed as an original document (we cannot accept typed signatures)

Your final submission form should be submitted with your thesis to the main reception desk in the David Wilson Library. If you wish to submit this electronically then please send it to Where you are submitting this electronically please note that the signature cannot be typed, and must be original.

Step 3 Submit Your Hard-Bound Thesis to the David Wilson Library

Where theses are posted we would recommend that they are sent by recorded delivery.

Step 4 Submit Your eThesis

In addition to the hard bound copy of your thesis, you are required to submit to the Leicester Research Archive an electronic copy of the final version of your thesis.

The electronic copy - also known as an ethesis - should be submitted as a single PDF at the same time as you submit your hard bound copy.
