I am a technician working for the European Petrophysics Consortium (EPC) team and based at The University of Leicester. During my time in Leicester I have been involved in the International Ocean Discovery Programme (IODP) Mission Specific Platform expeditions:

My role within EPC is to offer logistical and technical support throughout all expedition phases, including the operation of scientific apparatus both offshore and onshore; in containerized ocean-going laboratories and land based laboratories.

I completed my MGeol Geology degree at the University of Leicester in 2015 where my main research areas were in laboratory testing of rock physical properties and the role of physical properties in large-scale structural and fluid processes.

Masters Research Project 2015

The physical properties of bedded hyaloclastite deposits and their role in volcanic fluid systems, case studies from Aci Castello and Valle del Loddiero, Sicily

This project involved field characterisation and logging of volcaniclastic rocks in Sicily, before subsequent sampling for laboratory testing at BGS Keyworth. The project aimed to, and succeeded in quantifying the physical properties, including porosity and strength of the material. The data were used to infer how these parameters change with burial depth; with reference to volcanic hydrothermal systems, CO2 sequestration and hydrocarbon reserves at volcanic passive margins.
