Research Interests

  • The development of metamorphic core complexes and their structural and geochemical evolution.
  • The role of structural and sedimentological processes in the generation and evolution of sedimentary basins.
  • Fault tip propagation, linkage and growth and up-scaling to basin-scale models.


Associate Lecturer at the University of York. I have set up and am now running the Postgraduate Diploma in The Geology Of Yorkshire and Northern England an online programme run entirely by distance learning. Email annette.mcgrath@york.ac.uk.

Associate Lecturer at the University of Derby, providing ad hoc lecturing as required.

Former Postdoctoral Research Associate for the International Ocean Discovery Programme (IODP) and Teaching Fellow at the University of Leicester, teaching the following modules:

  • GL3069 Controls on Depositional Systems
