The student-led PCSB Geology Society at the University of Leicester has been busy raising money for charity over the autumn term.

The first event hosted by the society was the annual Open Mic Night in November. The event encouraged those musically talented within the department to share their forte with the rest of the society. We had a range of talent play from a saxophone solo to a fantastic rock band. The Open Mic Night raised an outstanding £194.21 for our chosen charity - Stand Up To Cancer!

The second event in December was the PCSB Christmas Clothing Day, where everyone in the department was encouraged to wear an item of Christmassy clothing. All proceeds were again donated to Stand Up To Cancer. This one-day event raised £69 which brings our charity total to £263.21 which is fantastic for the first term!

The society is hoping to continue with more events in the new term to raise even more money for this exceptional and deserving charity.
