THE 18th WINDY DAY, an informal meeting for the UK aeolian research community, will be held by the Department of Geography at the University of Leicester on Wednesday 17th October 2012.

The meeting will be of interest to researchers interested in aeolian processes and landforms at all spatial and temporal scales. Talks covering the application of basic physics, modelling, methodological issues and techniques are also very welcome. Sessions for both oral and poster presentations will be offered, and presentations by research students are especially encouraged.

As usual, attendance is free to all registered participants and will include morning/afternoon refreshments and a buffet lunch. However, please let us know if you plan to attend so that we can organise sufficient catering.

This year our invited speaker is Professor Slobodan Markovic from the University of Novi Sad in Serbia who will be talking on “One million years of aeolian dynamics recorded in the Serbian loess-palaeosol sequences”.
