GIS Team Win Prizes

Staff and academics from the GIS team recorded two notable successes last week at the GISRUK 2007 conference held in Maynooth, Ireland.

Prof. Chris Brunsdon won the best paper prize for the paper 'Geographically weighted visualisation - interactive graphics for scale-varying exploratory analysis' (co-authored by Jason Dykes of City University), and Nick Bearman (Leics BSc student last year who will re-join the dept. as MSc student this coming Sept) won first prize for best student paper for the paper 'Representing spatial geographical data via variations of volume and tempo in sound' (co-authored and supervised by Nick Tate).
