Social Insect Genomics Group

We are the Social Insect Genomics Lab: we study the fascinating interplay between evolutionary genomics and complex traits in social insects.

What we do

We study the evolution of complex traits, such as social organization and sexual mode, and the role of both genes and environment on these traits.

  • The effect of gene expression in diploid and haploid life stages / sexes on rates of evolution.

  • The dynamics and resolution of social conflicts within animal societies.

We are interested in the evolution of complex traits, such as social organization and sexual mode, and the role of both genes and environment on these traits.  We are also interested in the dynamics and resolution of social conflicts within animal societies.
