I have a close association with Aligarh Muslim University, where I have delivered the University's Distinguished Annual Lecture and given talks in the Department of English, the Department of Persian Studies, the Academic Staff College, the Al-Barkaat School of Management and the Ibn Sina Academy of Medieval Medicine and Sciences. I also examine AMU PhDs regularly (c. 12 a year)..
