Dr George Green

Novelist and academic George Green reads from his forthcoming work and discusses the process, problems and pleasures of writing historical fiction. Green is the author of two critically acclaimed works. His first, Hound retold one of Ireland's most celebrated legends: Cuchullain, the Hound of Ulster. The Guardian called it ‘tightly written…with a strong sense of history as well as myth,’ and Manda Scott: ‘the ultimate warrior's tale...a beautiful, poignant story of vengeance, lost love, outstanding heroism and a quite astonishing capacity for alcohol.’ He is currently working on a trilogy about the Irish in the Spanish Civil War.
