Matthew Sweet

A familiar voice in British broadcasting, Matthew Sweet presents Night Waves and Free Thinking on BBC Radio 3 and The Philosopher’s Arms and The Film Programme on BBC Radio 4. His books include Inventing the Victorians and Shepperton Babylon: The Lost Worlds of British Cinema, and he has edited dozens of radio and television documentaries on a variety of subjects.

This lecture is part of a series which celebrates important new research on nineteenth-century topics, hosted by the Victorian Studies Centre.

The lecture is followed by a wine reception.

This free lecture is open to graduates, students, staff and members of the public
