Fifty years ago, one of the most radical, important and funny plays of the post-war era was performed for the first time: Entertaining Mr Sloane by Leicester-born playwright Joe Orton. In honour of this anniversary, you are invited to join Dr Emma Parker from the School of English and Dr Simon Dixon, manager of the library’s Special Collections, in the Joe Orton Archive to see and discuss his scrapbooks, unpublished letters, and photographs of various productions of his play.

As this event will take place in the Reading Room, places are limited and early booking is advised.
