Moniza Alvi was born in Pakistan and grew up in Hertfordshire. Her collections include The Country at My Shoulder (1993), which was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize and the Whitbread Poetry Prize and selected for the Poetry Society’s ‘New Generation Poets’ promotion, Europa (2008) and At the Time of Partition  (2014), both also shortlisted for T.S. Eliot Prize. She received a Cholmondeley Award in 2002. Moniza now lives in Norfolk where she tutors for the Poetry School.

American poet Carrie Etter has lived in England since 2001 and taught creative writing at Bath Spa University since 2004. She has published three collections of poetry: The Tethers (Seren, 2009), winner of the London New Poetry Prize, Divining for Starters  (Shearsman, 2011) and Imagined Sons (Seren, 2014); she also edited the anthology Infinite Difference: Other Poetries by UK Women Poets (Shearsman, 2010).
