Our graduate, Oishi Deb, has won Sky Women in Technology Scholars grant

The Women in Technology Scholars grant is Sky initiative designed to encourage more women to pursue a career in technology.

Oishi was shortlisted for multiple prestigious awards, winning many of them, while conducting her studies at the Department of Engineering at Leicester. She is now a successful software engineer working for one of the world most advanced aero-engine manufacturers. It comes with little surprise Oishi has been awarded Sky Women in Technology Scholars grant 2018. As part of the award, Oishi has received £25,000 to develop a project on machine learning.

The Women in Technology Scholars grant is Sky initiative designed to encourage more women to pursue a career in technology. As stated on Sky Scholars web page:  "We offer three women, aged 18-25, funding and mentoring to develop their own technology project within the context of media and entertainment. We want to inspire each scholar to be the best they can be so we also offer wider developmental support with one example being communication training."

Big congratulations to Oishi who can be an inspiration to all students!
