New Microscopes for the Department of Engineering and the Department of Geology

The Department of Engineering and the Department of Geology have successfully secured £1.1 million funding to purchase two new electron microscopes

The Department of Engineering and the Department of Geology have successfully secured £1.1 million funding to purchase two new electron microscopes. These new electron microscopes will put the Advanced Microscopy Centre based in the Engineering Department at the forefront of nano-imaging used in materials science and geological research. One of the new electron microscopes arriving in July 2017 can also image biological samples down to nano-metre resolution. The electron microscopes will be equipped with state-of-the-chemical-composition analysis detectors and high resolution image stitching software.

If you think these microscopes may be of use to you please contact Mr Vinay Patel – Advanced Microscopy Centre Manager for further details at vp118@le.ac.uk
