Main question:

What is the relationship between EFL students’ and teachers’ language learning beliefs in a private English language school in Ho Chi Min City?

Specific questions:

1. What are the learners’ beliefs? How do these beliefs influence their preferred ways of learning?

2. What are the teachers’ beliefs? How do these beliefs inform their ways of teaching?

3. Do the teachers and the students act in accordance with their stated beliefs?

4. How and to what extent do the teachers’ beliefs and ways of teaching influence the learners’ learning beliefs, expectations, and actions?

5. How and to what extent do the learners’ beliefs and preferred ways of learning affect their teachers’ beliefs and ways of teaching?

6. Whether and how will any of the learners’ beliefs and ways of learning change as a result of participating in the class?
