Alison joined the School of Education in September 2013. Alison started teaching in 1990 after taking a PGCE course at Homerton College, Cambridge. She has 14 years of classroom experience, teaching in three primary schools and was employed by Leicestershire Local Authority as a Primary Mathematics Consultant from 2004 - 2010. In this role Alison supported teachers in the implementation of the National Numeracy Strategy and Primary Strategy. During this time Alison completed a Masters degree here at Leicester in Learning and Teaching. From 2010-2013 Alison was employed as a tutor at Nottingham Trent University on the BA Primary Education undergraduate course, Primary PGCE course and the Maths Specialist Teachers programme.

Her current roles within the School of Education include leading the Mathematics strand of the Primary PGCE course, leading the Primary with Mathematics PGCE route and Professional and Progress Tutor.
