There have been substantial changes in the teaching of the concept of energy over the past few years and this session explores approaches to using the new system of energy stores and pathways in teaching the topic.

A range of practical experiments which can be used in the laboratory will be examined.

The session will also explore the pathways which lead to energy transfer in more depth, examining methods for describing these transfers and helping students progress in their understanding.
