Mice in stories often offer a chance to think about counting forwards or backwards. This session will look at ‘Maisy Goes Camping’, the mouse in the ‘Gruffalo’, and a delightful story about a snake whose supper runs away.

Mouse Maths

You will have the chance to make a simple snake puppet and a mouse finger puppet, try some snake and mouse printing, and examine ways of engaging children in counting larger and larger numbers. You will also find out more about assessing children’s understanding and confidence in counting and early addition and subtraction.

Included in your fee is a copy of ‘Mouse Count’ and all the materials to re-enact the story with the children in your class – except for the potato!
