Life in Roman Leicester

This half day workshop will show how Key Stage 2 pupils can be introduced to ways on encountering and understanding a culture that is new to the whole class. You will learn how to use a wide range of everyday materials and easily accessible resources to inspire pupils to think critically about life in Roman Leicester.

This workshop will cover how to deliver four one-hour sessions on topics including life in Roman Leicester, death and burial, slavery and the Roman army. It will also include practical activities such as tying a toga and how to make a Roman shield.

You will take away a free pack of lesson plans,class power point presentations and useful resources.               

All materials are based on the world-class research of the University of Leicester's School of Archaeology and Ancient History.
