This course provides details and straightforward instructions for you to produce a variety of science equipment at a fraction of the cost of buying them.

The objective of the course is for you to gain experience in soldering, using hand tools and working with different materials to make a selection of items featured in CLEAPSS Make-it guides. 

The items range from those which can be made from materials found in the prep room and/or purchased from DIY outlets, to those which can be made from more sophisticated components.

Acrylic Workshop

You will take away everything that you make along with ideas for future DIY projects.

During the course about 10 items will be made, usually drawn from this list:
Spirit burner
Soldering aid
Bottle top crucible
Soldered and other connecting leads
Inoculation loop
1.5V battery holder
Marble chip burner
Electrical component holder
Stand for gas preparation apparatus
Bulb holder
Microscale electrolysis apparatus
Arduino data logger
