Scarman Lecture Series

About the Scarman Series

Each year the Department of Criminology invites a number of high profile guest speakers to deliver papers on current issues in criminology, criminal justice, policing and community safety. The lectures are open to the public and members of the University of Leicester.

Shami Chakrabarti

Scarman was a towering figure in our modern history of rights, freedoms and progressive evidence-based policing and social policy. It is so important that your Department champions research and discourse around such vital issues
