Prize Winner at the FORREST 2010 Conference
Ann Beresford was a poster prize winner at the above conference (FORensic RESearch and Training. The poster was entitled 'Electrochromic Enhancement of Latent Fingerprints'. Her prize was an very useful fingerprint kit that included fluorescent orange powder, beware Ann with kit!!!
Andrew Fallows receives prize.
Andrew was the recipient of the RSC Prize in Analytical Chemistry which was awarded to him by Head of Department, Prof Andrew Abbott.
Shalini Singh wins the Dalton Transactions poster prize with her first poster

This was at two day conference [Coordination Chemistry Discussion Group (CCDG)] organised at University of Leeds in June. The title of her poster was ‘Luminescent Cyclometallated Iridium Complexes : Synthesis, Characterisation and Applications’, and the prize was a free annual subscription to the journal.
Prof Abbott awarded RSC medal

Prof. Andy Abbott was awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry
Industrial Chemistry Medal at a special mini symposium at the University of Liverpool on the 15th April 2009. The symposium on Green Processing Methods was well attended and included lectures from Prof. Richard Nichols (Liverpool University) and Prof. David Cole-Hamilton (St Andrews University). Prof. Abbott's lecture was entitled "Salt Sellers: Scale-up and Commercialisation of Ionic Liquid Processes" and described the highs and lows of commercialising academic discoveries.
Professor Emma Raven and Dr Zoi Pipirou receive awards at the Annual RSC Awards Ceremony

Zoi received the 2008 RSC Laurie Vergnano Award and Emma received the RSC Industrially Sponsored Award for Reaction Kinetics and Mechanism They are pictured right with the President of the RSC Professor Dave Garner.
