Professor Nolan to Speak at IPA Away Day

Professor Peter Nolan, centre director, will be speaking at the IPA Away Day on Friday 16th October. Professor Nolan’s address, entitled `Work and Employment Futures’, will set out the case for a research agenda that would displace `futurology’ with rigorous, historically grounded, theoretical and empirical research. With reference to the major shifts taking place in global markets, business organisations, and employment relations, he will outline the elements of a better understanding of the changing connections between labour market institutions, employment structures and economic prosperity.

Other speakers at the event include Peter Cheese from the CIPD and Lee Hopley, Chief Economist, EEF and member of IPA Advisory Council.

The IPA is a not-for-profit organisation which looks at delivering partnership, consultation and employee engagement in the workplace. Working with companies on an individual basis to assess their workplace needs, the IPA also works with policy makers in Whitehall, agencies such as ACAS and the new Equality and Human Rights Commission, academics and think tanks.

You can find out more about the IPA from their website.
