New Book Chapter from Professor Ian Clark

HRM Book Cover

A chapter written by Centre member Professor Ian Clark will feature in a new edition of Human Resource Management.

The chapter “Comparative HRM and Responses to Global Crises” was written by Professor Ian Clark and Tim Claydon and is the fifteenth chapter in the 7th Edition of Beardwell and Thompson’s Human Resources Management. The chapter cuts across many of the points raised by Professor Clark at the Centre’s launch event in April of this year, and is one of the first Human Resources Management texts to include a section devoted to evaluation of the financial crisis.

“Comparative HRM and Responses to Global Crises” focuses on employment systems in Germany, Japan and the USA, using case studies of Kodak, Toyota and Mercedes-Benz to demonstrate the national institutional character of employment systems in these countries and how institutional patterns of employment regulation are embedded within wider features of societies and their business systems.

Human Resources Management will be published on 23rd June 2014. Read more about the title on the publisher’s website.
