Centre member provides written evidence to the BHS collapse inquiry

BHS collapse

The collapse of the established retail store, British Homes Stores, has sparked a major controversy in recent months about the `unacceptable’ face of contemporary capitalism. The business practices, deemed unacceptable by commentators from across the political spectrum, have been scrutinized in a recently published Report by the Departments of Work and Pensions and Business, Innovation and Skills. Professor Clark, who leads the Centre’s research on the nature and effects of financialised business practices on employment relations and pensions, provided evidence to the joint committees that produced the Report.
