Centre Member Makes the Front Page

Dr Nik HammerRecent research by Dr Nik Hammer was front page news in the Leicester Mercury on Thursday 19th February. The research into Leicester's textile industry with carried out in with the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) and amongst other findings, highlighted that many workers are paid less than minimum wage.

The article in the Leicester Mercury focused on the low pay received by workers as well as the treatment of women in the workplace, and included quotes with Beverley Bambrough, of the Community union and City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby.
