I earned my undergraduate and masters degrees in Business Management (emphasis on Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship) from Comenius University in Slovakia, graduating with my masters degree (distinction) in 2005. During my time at Comenius University, I also spent several semesters studying English as a second language at California Polytechnic State University (USA) and Marketing at the University of Mannheim (Germany).

I started my professional career at Amphenol-Tuchel Electronics and at Richard Fritz GmbH, where I gained practical experience in the field of production and organisational management in the highly competitive German automotive industry. After moving to the United States in 2007, I worked for seven years at Andrews University, managing a hybrid business that produced science lab equipment for the educational industry while providing jobs and internships for students. During this time, I also became an adjunct faculty member in the School of Business at Andrews University, teaching courses on Entrepreneurship and Small business management. I am currently pursuing a PhD degree in Management Studies at the University of Leicester, focusing my research on processes that capacitate Philippine coffee farmers as economic agents.

My research interests are in the area of social entrepreneurship, sustainable value chains and production networks, and marketing theory. I am also interested in exploring relations between (human) agency and technology by using the actor-network approach to organisation.
