Personal details

I previously studied at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Anthropology and English (1999), and a Master of Business Administration (2001).

After working in economic development, I moved into academia at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University, where I chaired the development of an undergraduate business programme in which I continue to teach, primarily in the areas of marketing, organisational behaviour and theory, and corporate social responsibility.

I am currently pursuing my PhD through the University of Leicester School of Business.

I am currently a member of both the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC).

My PhD research focuses on understanding how small and medium sized enterprises can leverage the power of corporate social responsibility to build competitive advantage. My investigation aims to develop a strategic CSR framework specifically tailored for SMEs.

In addition to my general interests in corporate social responsibility, my other areas of research interest include gender differences in both conception and practice of CSR, models of social entrepreneurship, small businesses as drivers of economic development, and challenges in non-profit management.
