Andrea graduated in Modern and Medieval History and Sinology (Magister Artium) from Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich, Germany and holds a MBA with distinction from University of Strathclyde Business School (UK). With twenty years of experience in working in a fast growing German family enterprise and 10 years of being a member of the financing team, she moved on to research family enterprise financing at a doctoral level. Parallel to this study Andrea is serving as director finance and controller of the market unit Asia Pacific, for a leading German construction supplier, commuting between Germany and Asia.

Andrea’s research interest revolve around the major topics: scenario planning, the influence of intercultural relationships on family business, trust research and family enterprises financing. She is currently looking at the question whether trust between family enterprises and their financing institutions in German and an Asian context can be classified as transferable, unbiased, gender and culturally independent criterion for a successful corporate financing relationship in a BASEL III context.
