Personal details

I studied for my BA (2008) and MA (2009) in Humanities and Film Studies at Universita’ degli Studi La Sapienza di Roma and completed my Erasmus project at Panthéon Sorbonne Paris 1 in the Department of History of Art and Archaeology in 2008. I am currently a PhD candidate and Teaching Fellow at the School of Business, University of Leicester.

Management and Organisation

My theoretical interest focuses on the dilemmas raised by self-reflexivity in figurative arts with particular attention to cinema and attempts to investigate the issues raised by the art of film-making through the scrutiny of metacinematic gestures. Namely, the way practitioners deal with organisational and practical solutions along with the visual strategies adopted in order to display or conceal these self-reflexive moves within the aesthetic product. The analysis of self-reflexive films harbours the potential to theorize the character of several visual products as located between the tension of the cinema’s processual dimension and the finite product that it results in.
