Personal details
I joined the School of Business in January 2015, specialising in International Financial Accounting and Reporting. I am a professionally qualified accountant (ACCA), hold a professional qualification in marketing (member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing), and an MBA (Loughborough University).
Prior to my role here, I worked at De Montfort University and previously in audit and assurance at Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC). I have extensive professional experience and scholarly expertise in international financial reporting and accounting, on a range of courses including undergraduate, postgraduate and professional accountancy programmes (ICAEW, ACCA, and CIMA).
I am Director of Internationalisation for the School of Business and I have considerable international experience – having taught in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Sri Lanka, and China – I am currently visiting Professor at the Business School in Liaoning University in Shenyang, China.

Research
Main research interests lie in the fields of International Accounting standard – setting and implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) – particularly looking at politics of the standard-setting process, culture and accounting. He is also interested in the broad area of accounting for intangible assets.
