Leicester Masterclass

About the Leicester Masterclass

The 2019 Leicester Masterclass will focus on Global Dynamics and Change. On the first day, we welcome you to the school and the Masterclass and allocate the global strategic planning groups. We will then introduce the global project to you and your team. At the end of the day and in true Masterclass style, there will be some ‘light-hearted’ competition!

Day 2 sees a focus on globalisation and the strategies available to us. The day will be a mixture of knowledge acquisition and skill development, with sessions from faculty and specially invited guest speakers. On Day 3 we turn our attention to global opportunities and will consider the practicalities and the nuances of working overseas. We are delighted that some of the sessions of Day 3 will be undertaken by the UK Governments Department for International Trade.

The middle of the week takes us into the realms of funding global expansion. We will consider the methods and mechanisms available for global growth and the risks associated with this. We move on to consider how we can access consumers in a global marketplace. In response to feedback from last year, an afternoon is allocated as ‘free-time’ for those who wish to explore the city. Friday sees our celebratory gala dinner in the evening at the King Power Stadium, home of Leicester City Football Club. The latter part of the Masterclass will focus on organisational change and your teams preparing to showcase your global projects.

The 2019 timetable is now available. Please note that this is correct at the time of publishing and maybe subject to change.

Leicester MBA (April 2017 intake onwards)

Throughout their course Leicester MBA students (recruited from 1st April 2017) can attend as many Masterclasses as they wish, however, the maximum of 48 synchronous contact hours can only be obtained regardless of how many Masterclasses are attended. For example, if a student attended the whole of the 2018 Masterclass they would obtain 48 synchronous contact hours, any further Masterclasses attended would not count towards contact hours, if a student attended only certain days of the 2018 Masterclass and obtained 21 synchronous contact hours, the further 27 synchronous contact hours could be obtained during the 2019 Masterclass.
