6 December 2017 - Leicester Actuarial Science Society

Steven Baxter, Partner at Hymans Robertson, will be talking about mortality research, collaborations with the Pensions and Life Saving Association, the consultation on the state pension age, intergenerational fairness and much more. If you want to know how some of the most technical actuarial work can be made relevant to the most important decisions we make as a society, then come along and listen to Steven. There are likely to be representatives from a number of actuarial employers in the audience at this event too!

26 February 2018 - Dean's Lecture Series

John Pullinger, Vice-Chair of the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC) has been invited to take part in the Dean's Lecture Series. He will be asking whether people value statistics and do they believe them? In his talk 'Statistics': The need for good communication he will argue that improving statistical communication between those creating and using statistics is ever more important.
