Modern Languages at Leicester

Welcome to Modern Languages at Leicester. We are one of the leading centres for the study of languages, translation, cultures and international communication in the UK. Here we offer courses in modern language and culture in French, Italian, Spanish and translation and interpreting, all of which take place in a warm, welcoming and state-of-the-art learning environment.

We also offer courses in languages for non-specialists through Languages at Leicester.

We offer a diverse range of course options including your choice of languages at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as translation studies and international communication and culture, joint degrees in collaboration with other departments, and research opportunities.

Our summer schools offer our first year students a unique opportunity to spend time in the country whose language they will be studying. These three-week courses will be fully funded by the University of Leicester.

Our staff actively engage in academic research and we have all the resources you need to study effectively in our research centre.
