RAC/TRAC 2014 and TRAC 2015

A great turn out at the Roman Archaeology Conference in Reading (RAC/TRAC2014) and the 25th Theoretical Roman Archaeology Conference (TRAC2015) will be held at Leicester

There was a stellar representation of over 25 Leicester students, staff and former students at the Roman Archaeology Conference (RAC/TRAC2014) at the University of Reading (27 - 30 March). Four staff/postdocs gave papers (Pim Allison, David Mattingly, Martin Sterry, Jeremy Taylor), as did four postgrads (David Griffiths, Matthew Mandich, Ian Marshman, Anna Walas) and another chaired a session (Sergio Gonzales). Particular congratulations are due to the postgraduate presenters, who really did us proud.  Numerous other speakers were our ex-PhDs or people who have been here on short-term contracts. Wonderful also to see some of our undergraduates there. To cap a very successful weekend, the PGRs successfully bid to bring TRAC back to Leicester next spring for its landmark 25th anniversary conference – which should be quite an event. All in all, it has been a great demonstration of the strength of Leicester in Roman studies!
