Critical Geomatics or just droning on?

CAA-UK Conference 2016

The CAA UK 2016 organisers would like to invite papers for the CAA UK 2016 meeting to be held at the University of Leicester Saturday 4th March – Sunday 5th March 2016.

CAA-UK aims to encourage communication between UK-based archaeologists, mathematicians and computer scientists and contributions are invited covering all aspects of Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology. In addition, we would particularly welcome contributions that contribute to two concerns implicit in the meeting title. 2016 is a year of anniversaries, marking not only the 20th anniversary of Internet Archaeology and the Archaeology Data Service, but also the publication of a slew of edited volumes showcasing the value of GIS and GI Science to archaeology. Papers exploring the legacy and/or ongoing developments in these areas are particularly welcome. Likewise, as the skies above our sites become increasingly drone-rich and techniques such as Structure-from-Motion slip seamlessly into workflows and field-practices, we are keenly interested in how the products of such exercises are folded into the processes of analysis and interpretation.

Full details of the conference, including booking & venue information and accepted abstracts will be available in due course at  Abstracts should be a maximum of 250 words and geared around 20 minute presentations. Please send your abstracts to the organisers at:

The Deadline for abstract submission is Friday 8th January 2016.
