Doctoral Inaugural Lectures to celebrate postgraduate researchers

Hosted by the Graduate School, the Inaugural Lectures delivered by students in the College of Social Science, Arts and Humanities will take place in May 2016.

The Graduate School is at the heart of our postgraduate community and provides support to postgraduates across the University's three Colleges.

The Doctoral Inaugural Lecture series is one of the most exciting and innovative events designed specifically for research students and allows academically outstanding doctoral graduates to share their work and passion for research with the University and the general public.

  • Dr Oliver Williams, Department of Sociology – ‘Eat well, move more, live longer? Researching the promotion of healthy lifestyles in a deprived neighbourhood’
  • Dr Sara Benedi Lahuerta, School of Law – ‘The effective enforcement of EU non-discrimination law within and outside courts’

All of the Doctoral Inaugural Lectures are free and are open to all, including members of the public. A drinks reception will follow each lecture.
