College of Life Sciences Structure

The College of Life Sciences comprises the following academic schools and departments:

    • Genetics and Genome Biology (including the Cancer Research Centre)

    • Molecular and Cell Biology
    • Neuroscience, Psychology and Behaviour (including the Centre for Systems Neuroscience)

In addition the College includes:

  • Research Institutes
    • LPMI - Leicester Precision Medicine Institute (including Leicester Drug Discovery and Diagnostics)
    • LISCB - Leicester Institute of Structural and Chemical Biology
  • Centres
    • Leicester Diabetes Centre (including Diabetes Research Centre, hosted by the Department of Health Sciences)
    • Cancer Research Centre (hosted by the Department of Genetics and Genome Biology)
    • Centre for Systems Neuroscience (hosted by the Department of Neuroscience, Psychology and Behaviour)
  • Pre-clinical Research Facility managed by the Division of Biomedical Services
  • Leicester Clinical Trials Unit
  • Core Biotechnology Services

The College professional services team is responsible for all the administration services functions devolved to the College.

The College works closely with the MRC Toxicology Unit which is located in the Hodgkin Building.
