Respiratory Health and Wellbeing

Campaign overview

With our respiratory health campaign, we focus on informing you on anything related to lung health with a series of fun events that cater for each and everyone’s needs and preferences.  Our set of activities aims to get you out of the house and into a park, enjoy a bit of clean air whilst being active, educate on respiratory health, and benefit not only your physical, but also mental wellbeing.

Rolling programme of events

Over the summer months, we hosted our rolling programme of activities and events in Leicester’s green spaces to get everyone who is interested out into the nature and promote a more active lifestyle. We worked closely with local artists and performers to bring an aspect of creativity into our events.

We will re-visit these activities in Leicester's greenspaces in summer 2019. In the meantime, we are hosting events, such as yoga classes and creative writing and drawing workshops, in the Knoll building of the Botanic Gardens. Check out our programme of events for more info.

Hot topics

The second part of the campaign were the so-called ‘hot topics’ where we focused on more specific respiratory health problems in our community, such as TB, Asthma and COPD, as well as smoking cessation. Here, we worked closely with our university’s researchers to provide fun events with an educational aspect, as well as provide you with ways and alternatives to live a healthier life – if you are suffering from respiratory health problems or not.
