Research Support

Our team members are assigned projects for periods of 3-12 months with clear milestones, deliverables and end points.

Examples of this support include:

  • Project Management
  • To support assay design and development.
  • Purchase of bespoke focused libraries originating from in-silico/activity screens against targets or originating from rationalisation of larger libraries or to support early hit-to-lead work.
  • To support in-vitro activity screens and in-silico screening and assessment of candidate molecules in animal as well as in-vivo and ex-vivo models of disease.
  • Provide medicinal chemistry support through hit validation, preliminary explosion libraries and early hit-to-lead work either through our collaborative alliance with the Centre for Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Nottingham or via contract research organisations, some of which we already have good working relationships with, for example, Argenta, Domainex, Sygnature and Biofocus.
  • Purchase of specialised services from small to medium enterprises and contract research organisations.
  • Conduct ADME, DMPK and toxicology evaluation of hit/lead molecules.
  • Access to internal core facilities at Leicester such as genomic services, proteomics, imaging, bioinformatics and histology.
  • The Centre aims to launch sustainable translational projects from the basic research programmes within the College of Life Sciences.
