IAX 2018: LD3 and GSK - a partnership of success

The successful collaboration between LD3, Prof Simon Wagner and the Discovery Partnerships with Academia (DPAc) from GSK was presented as an example of excellence of the UoL engagement with Industry partners that highly benefited from the support of the Proximity to Discovery (P2D) award from the Medical Research Council (MRC).

In the past 16th of May the College of Life Sciences of the University of Leicester hosted, at Winstanley House in Leicester, the first Industry & Academia Exchange (IAX) showcase event that brought together academic scientists, clinicians and businesses from across the globe, to forge engagement opportunities.

The successful collaboration between LD3, Prof Simon Wagner and the Discovery Partnerships with Academia (DPAc) from GSK was presented as an example of excellence of the UoL engagement with Industry partners that highly benefited fromm the support of the Proximity to Discovery (P2D) award from the MRC.

Dr Ana Sousa Manso from LD3 and Dr Mark Bamford, (Discovery Partnership Leader) from DPAc-GSK presented the current collaboration in more detail and explained to the audience why a programme such as the P2D from the MRC is so important to strengthen Industry and Academia relationships.

video with comments from Dr Sousa Manso and Dr Duncan Holmes (European Head of DAPc, GSK) was shown at the event to introduce and disseminate the benefits of the P2D programme for both Academia and Industry.
