NIHR Bursaries

You receive a £1,000 bursary each year of the programme.  To apply for your bursary, please complete the bursary application appropriate form and email it to or post it to our contact address for the attention of Lesley Clissold for processing:

Once you have received your authorised application form, you are able to claim for your expenses via the University EC1 form.

Reviews and meetings


You will have an induction with the Director of Clinical Academic Training and the Scheme Administrator.

Academic Reviews

Your annual Academic Reviews are usually scheduled during May of each year in advance of your Academic Review in Continuing Practice.  You will be contacted for your availability and the relevant paperwork nearer the time.

Exit Meeting

If you leave the course before completion, you will need to attend an exit meeting with the Director of Clinical Academic Training, Professor Matthew Bown, and the Administrative Programme Manager, Lesley Clissold.
