Flow Cytometry Facility

FACS Facility Header

Flow cytometry is a laser-based technology which allows in depth analysis of the characteristics of cells or particles.

The core facility at UoL delivers a state of the art flow cytometry service to support both internal and external collaborative research. The existing facilities have been brought together with three new instruments.

The facility is situated in lab G43, Maurice Shock Building, and houses a BD FACSAria Fusion cell sorter and three analysers – a BD FACSCanto II, a Beckman Coulter Cytoflex and a BD Accuri C6 Plus. The facility is open for use for all researchers at University of Leicester and for collaborations with external parties.

The FACS Facility would like to thank the Wellcome Trust and the Mayer IgA Nephropathy group at University of Leicester for their generous funding.
